Continuing work on his latest film which stars Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz, comic legend and Hollywood big-hitter Woody Allen was seen filming in Barcelona’s beautiful Park Guell.
The as yet untitled film, which remains shrouded in mystery, is likely to prominently feature the picturesque park, which was designed by famous Catalan architect Antonio Gaudi from 1900 to 1914, considering the scale of the operations taking place in and around it.
Despite its location in the heart of Barcelona, Park Guell exudes an air of serenity, filled as it is with idle wanderers enjoying the maze like terraces and mosaic bearing walls and benches. Situated on the hillside of el Carmel in the Gracia district of the city, the park is part of the Unesco World Heritage Site ‘The Works of Gaudi’.
Among the visionary architect’s other noticeable works in Barcelona, La Sagrada Familia (The Holy Family) is a large Roman Catholic basilica that is still under construction to this day.
Never finished by Gaudi in more than 40 years, the church displays his unique and organic style, mixing traditional elements with grand curves and his own beautifully bizarre creations.
