Following the great success of the previous Autumn/Winter 07 collection, MANGO unveiled the second exclusive collection signed by the Cruz sisters (pictured), Penelope & Monica Cruz for MNG, for the Spring/Summer 08 season.

The evening dresses and retro garments in their new collection will reach the stores in mid-February. The remainder of the collection, with its Californian and more summery style, will reach the stores in April.

The collection, comprising 38 articles, embraces the past and is presented in three trend lines: retro-marinero, which blends romantic floral prints; red carpet, with various evening dresses, created for each occasion and the “ad lib” californiana line, with more summery garments represented by frilly skirts and long printed dresses. In general, the collection has a distinctive floral and romantic air, and features an abundance of frills and embroidery. It also includes a jeans section and various accessories, such as shoes, hairbands, caps and hats: items created in accordance with their own style and personal tastes.

With this second collection, the Cruz sisters have reaffirmed their position as creators of style and trends, adding one more success to their professional careers. Recently Penelope Cruz, who is also the image of the firm’s Spring/Summer 08 campaign, received the Gold Medal of New York’s Queen Sofia Spanish Institute from Queen Sofia in recognition of her contribution to the popularisation of Spanish language and culture.
