Daniel Day-Lewis isn’t Javier Bardem but he sure is a great actor as well!
Daniel Day-Lewis is reportedly in talks to replace fellow Oscar winner Javier Bardem in the big screen version of the musical Nine. Bardem dropped out of the project earlier this month.
According to Variety, Day-Lewis may play the role of “a famous film director who experiences personal and creative crisis while trying to balance all the women in his life. Pen?? ??lope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench will play the women. The musical was inspired by the Fellini film 8 1/2.”
A spokesperson for The Weinstein Co. informed the trade, however, “Any of the names being thrown around is pure conjecture and when we’re ready to make an announcement we’ll let you know.”
Rob Marshall will direct from a screenplay by Michael Tolkin and the late Anthony Minghella.
