Penelope attended the, 2009 Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and I believe she was honored as the, Chopin Outstanding Performer of the Year! I’ll triple check on this to make sure and once I find out for sure I’ll also be adding tons of photos from the event. Penelope looked amazing, as usual.
I’m so sorry that I can’t upload them all now, this cough and throat business is killing me, I’ve got to take another nap before class tomorrow.

Penelope was stunning at the Santa Barbara Film Festival; she received the Chopin Outstanding Performer of the Year Award on Saturday, January 24. There was an outpouring of support for the “Spanish Enchantress” in the historic Arlington Theatre where she spoke with Executive Director Roger Durling for two hours about her career, her challenges, her triumphs… Let me know if you want any photos from the event and I can send you exclusive shots from The Red carpet. We just returned from the Santa Barbara Film Festival – on Saturday night Penelope Cruz received the Chopin Outstanding Performer of the Year Award, presented by Josh Brolin at the historic Arlington Theatre. Thousands of film lovers came out to see the “Spanish enchantress”; VIP and celebrity guests were treated to Chopin Extra Olive (CEO) Martinis spiced with organic chipotle-stuffed olives in Cruz’s honor. At the end of the evening Cruz received a one-of-a-kind Christofle shaker from Chopin Vodka. Last year’s recipient of the Chopin Outstanding Performer of the Year Award was Angelina Jolie.

Star Buzz from The Chopin Red Carpet in Santa Barbara – Penelope Cruz was the star attraction in Santa Barbara Saturday night, drawing thousands of fans who cheered her as she received highest honors: the coveted Chopin Outstanding Performer of the Year Award at the 24th Annual Santa Barbara Film Festival: Cruz was praised for her performances in Elegy and Vicki Cristina Barcelona (for which she received an Academy Award nomination just days earlier). Surprise guest and good friend, Josh Brolin, presented her with the Chopin Outstanding Performer of the Year Award.
