Penelope Cruz is expecting her first child with longtime love Javier Bardem, sources confirm exclusively to JustJared.com.
“Penelope is about four months pregnant,” a source tells Just Jared. “She’s really healthy now and will be a great mother.”
Penelope may be expecting, but she won’t be tying the knot anytime soon. She told the August issue of UK’s Psychologies magazine, “When I [have babies], I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life. I don’t know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, love and children.”
Penelope, 35, and Javier, 40, appeared together in three films — Jamón, Jamón, Live Flesh and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
Penelope has been in Germany promoting her latest movie, Broken Embrace.
I’m not putting a lot of stock behind this until I see more verification from other sources such as People.com and others. But on the off chance this is true – CONGRATS to Pe and Javier! They’ll make wonderful parents!

Penélope Cruz is a perfectionist in all areas of her profession, something the Spanish-born star admits she carries over into her personal life.
“Every time I make a film, I feel like it’s my first time … I always think they could fire me,” the Oscar winner, 35, tells the August issue of Psychologies magazine in the U.K. “I’ve ruined my own happiness and created problems with my friends because of this tendency. It takes discipline for me to stop worrying.”
She adds, “I have a tendency to become a mother to everyone around me. My brother and sister are always complaining that I’m too protective.”
Someday that might just come in handy. Currently linked to fellow Spaniard Javier Bardem – about whom Cruz would only say, “He’s a wonderful man, a great actor” – she does admit that she definitely desires kids.
“I want to have babies one day but not right now. When I do it I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life,” says Cruz. “I don’t know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, love and children.”
Appropriately enough, Cruz’s next film is kid-friendly. She voices a gerbil spy named Juarez in Disney’s G-Force, which hits theaters July 31.

Even the biggest stars aren’t immune to getting hit by stomach bugs it seems. Penelope Cruz had to miss out on promoting her upcoming musical Nine in Cannes Monday, sidelined by “some sort of food poisoning.”
In France to premiere her movie Broken Embraces, which is directed by Pedro Almodóvar, she was slated to join movie mogul Harvey Weinstein in presenting a trailer and a teaser for Nine, but fell ill.
Weinstein passed on the bad news to a select group of journalists: “Tomorrow night is her premiere for her movie. She is getting better and is seeing a doctor right now.”
He then introduced Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard, another star of the ensemble piece, which also sees appearances from Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Judi Dench, Fergie, Daniel Day-Lewis and Sophia Loren.
“It was an amazing adventure, it was my dream to be in an American musical,” Cotillard said. “I really hope you are going to love what you are going to see.”
Weinstein added, “When you see [Cotillard] sing, when you see her dance, we bring back a tradition that we need to do more of.”
The trailer is already out in the U.S., and the movie will be released in theaters in November.
Cruz recovered enough to attend the Hollywood Dominos event later Monday. She walked in without talking to the media and, after chatting with the hosts, spent about 45 minutes at the party before leaving. [People]
