Spanish director Pedro Almodovar will chronicle the progress on his upcoming project Broken Hugs on his newly created blog, the Oscar-winning director’s production house El Deseo announced Wednesday.

Hugs will star Penelope Cruz — who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Almodovar’s most recent film, Volver — along with Blanca Portillo, Lluis Homar and Jose Luis Gomez.

Almodovar will include pictures, videos and other snippets from the film, set to begin shooting in May. The film noir centers on plastic surgeon who seeks revenge on the man who raped his daughter.

The blog will be available by Friday in English, Spanish and French at PedroAlmodovar.es.

Spanish scriptwriter Rafael Azcona, who wrote the screenplay for the Oscar-winning film Belle Epoque starring Penelope Cruz, died Monday at the age of 81, Spanish media reported.

Azcona’s wife Susi said he had been battling lung cancer for a long time, the web site of top-selling daily newspaper El Pais reported Tuesday.

Culture Minister Cesar Antonio Molina said Azcona’s death “had left the world of film and literature without one of its great storytellers.”

Penelope Cruz is currently dating Oscar-winning star Javier Bardem after broken relationships with Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey.

The 33-year-old would love to have a family one day but isn’t planning to start just yet.

‘I’d love to have kids,’ she tells Now. ‘Maybe I’ll adopt about 20 children ???  ?? ?
S that’s been my dream since I was a little girl. I love children, but at the moment I’m happy with my career.

‘If one day I have a baby I’m not going to be able to work like I do now. I can be in London one day, Miami the next, New York after that, then back to LA. I travel more than some pilots! I’d still want to work when I have children, but not as much as I do now.’

While she’s still single, Penelope expresses her maternal instincts towards pussies.

‘I’ve collected stray cats from everywhere in the world,’ she admits. ‘My family’s going crazy about it.’

Penelope Cruz joined the ageism debate Sunday when she told a crowded Berlin press conference that she wasn’t afraid of growing old. “I’m looking forward to it,” she said following the press screening of her heavy competition title, “Elegy.” “Coming back and using that experience in my work, is the only way I look at it.”

Despite putting in a stellar performance in the English-language drama, her looks, the loss of them, power of them, or price of them, even, proved to be the most popular topic at the conference.

The subject proved a sensitive one for the down-to-earth star and L’Oreal model whose face is plastered all over Berlinale HQ Potsdamer Platz in festival sponsor L’ Oreal advertisements.

“I don’t engage in that debate because I’m allergic to it,” said Cruz after a journalist began reading a quote, or mis-quote, which suggested that Cruz wasn’t considered a serious actress because of her looks.

? ??lope Cruz wants to keep her vacation memories in camera – if she can find it.
The Spanish actress’ digital camera either was stolen out of her baggage or otherwise lost while she was traveling abroad recently, and now her Los Angeles attorneys are looking to ensure that the tabloids don’t get too excited if exclusive pics from Cruz’s getaway somehow make their way to their inboxes.

Among other things, the missing photos depict “a variety of private images” of the Volver star with her family and friends, according to a letter sent to various media outlets by the law firm Lavely & Singer.

A police report has been filed, with all of the images contained in Cruz’s missing camera considered to be stolen or lost property at this time.
”Any publication or other commercial use of the photos would be both a copyright violation and an invasion of the 33-year-old L’Oreal spokeswoman’s privacy,” the letter states.
